I now stand at another crossroad in my life. I thought I would never come back in to the world of the "Music Business" again. I thought I would float around the outside and never to be seen again on a major stage. I was wrong! The World has changed and I have to change with it. I could go on forever playing in local pubs and nobody would think twice about it. We could earn a good living, (enough to keep us alive) but never enough to save and have money in the bank to die on. Still a lot of musicians in the past have died paupers. You might have guessed time is creeping on and here I am at 61 thinking of starting a new career. All of this came about because just recently things are changing for Duncan and myself. We have started to get on the Festival scene. This scenario carries on throughout the year and all over the world. Click here to see pictures and Video in Lugano
For the first time in my life I am looking for an Agent or Manager. This is serious stuff, I have never looked for a manager before, I've never needed one. But I feel it would be good for us to have somebody to look out for us.
Secondly I am being asked to play on records again. Not only play on a record but actualy record it in my own front room. The artist and composer 'David Fisher & Alex Heffes' came to my house in Billingshurst and set up a laptop computer with Cubase onboard, I plugged my guitar in and off I went. The two guys tell me that "In November, ITV will be airing a new 6-part Granada series called "Stan The Man". It stars John Thomson ("Cold Feet" and "The Fast Show") and Joe Absolom ("Eastenders") and best of all Eric Sykes in one episode!" This is Jim's History as it is now.
